FAQs
Where are you located?
I am located in Ventura, Ca.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
At the moment I do not have a physical location for customers to visit.
Do you do custom orders?
I’m a small one man operation trying to maintain a balanced life, so currently I am unable to do custom orders. Of course it doesn’t hurt to ask, so please feel free to reach out using the contact form.
How do I clean my board?
All natural wood items can be cleaned with warm water and dish soap. Please take note that a cutting board or other natural wood items should never be placed in the dishwasher. The large amount of moisture and humidity will ruin a natural wood product.
If you wish to give your board a deep cleaning, you can use a little bit of sea salt and half a lemon to scrub the board down. Afterwards, wash the board normally to remove any salt and lemon juice residue. Once the board has fully dried apply some wood butter to help seal and protect the wood.
Can you engrave the wood item?
Unfortunately, at the moment I am unable to do engravings but I hope to change that in the near future.
What woods do you use?
I primarily work with domestic woods such as Mahogany, Black Walnut, Hard/Soft Maple, and Cherry. Other woods that I use are Purple Heart and Satine Wood (also known as Bloodwood).
What is the best wood for a cutting board?
The best wood would most likely be Hard Maple because it is a hard, dense wood with fine grain, making it an ideal wood to use for cutting boards.
What finish do you use? Is it food Safe?
I primarily use a Tung oil based finish called Odie’s Oil. It is an all natural and food safe finish. You can visit their website for more information about the product.
Do use any chemicals or dyes on the wood?
No, I never use any chemical finishes or dyes on my products. The only other product that I use is wood glue (TiteBond III) which is non-toxic, and solvent free.
Do you use epoxy?
I generally work only with solid wood but occasionally I will use some expoxy to fill in voids, usually on my charcuterie boars. In which case I recommend you do not cut on these types of boards because you can end up chipping off pieces of epoxy.
Do you ship international?
Unfortunately, we currently only ship in the U.S.
What is your return policy?
Our return policy is all sales are final. However, if you have an issue with an item, please contact us.
